FlightScope Mevo+ Space Requirements
The Mevo+ can be a strong indoor/outdoor launch monitor, but it is not the easiest fit for every tight simulator room. Because it is a radar-based unit that sits behind the ball, room depth matters more than it does with many camera-based launch monitors.
Quick answer
Plan for a longer room than you would with a side-mounted camera unit. A support article from 24/7 Golf says Mevo+ requires a minimum of 5.1 meters / 16 feet 9 inches of depth for accuracy, including space from unit to ball, ball to net/screen, and screen flex behind impact.
| Dimension | Practical planning note |
|---|---|
| Depth | Think long-room first; radar needs distance behind the ball and ball flight into the screen/net. |
| Width | Still needs full swing clearance, especially with driver. |
| Height | Driven mostly by golfer height and swing, not the device alone. |
| Environment | Metal-heavy spaces can be harder for radar units and may need treatment. |
Why Mevo+ is different indoors
Camera launch monitors often sit beside the ball and read a shorter capture area. Mevo+ sits behind the ball, so the simulator has to accommodate the device, the hitting area, the ball flight, and safe screen/net flex.
Good rooms for Mevo+
Mevo+ is a better indoor fit in deeper garages, longer basements, and multipurpose rooms where you can keep the unit aligned behind the hitting area. It is less attractive in very shallow rooms where every foot matters.
When to choose a camera unit instead
If your room depth is tight, compare SkyTrak+, Bushnell Launch Pro, Uneekor EYE MINI, or another camera-based unit before committing. The right answer is not always the launch monitor with the best outdoor flexibility; it is the one that works cleanly in your actual room.
